“I also wanted to let you know we had the most amazing time! The farm and staff are phenomenal. Amanda and Sandra were so kind and caring and helped us to have the perfect first birthday despite the weather. The party was mostly adults and every guest commented on what a fantastic time they had. Sandra made sure we were able to have the fire pit and hayride and gave a great tour!! We even had a deer run past us which added to the excitement. Amanda made sure to bring all the animals to the birthday girl Molly who loved petting all of the animals and truly enjoyed being able to walk around with the chickens and goats. We will definitely be making plans to visit again!! Thank you thank you!!”

“Since [child] finished camp yesterday I wanted to thank you for making this summer a fun and safe time for him and us. This was his first experience with full day camp on a regular basis. Every day he would come home tired but so excited to tell us all of the things he did that day at farm camp.  I started a new job in mid July that ended up being full time that left me in a position that I need full time child care and fast, you certainly delivered. There were days when there was excessive heat, flooding rain and even potential tornadoes, after hearing the creative ways that you kept the kids safe and busy I felt no worry that good judgement would be used.”

“Love it here!  Very friendly staff and always very welcoming!  The animals are all super friendly.  Its worth the drive if you are not from this area!  You will not be disappointed.”

“[Partner] and I wanted to express our gratitude for the wonderful programming you provide all year, particularly the Summer Camp at Good Pickin Farm. We can't thank you enough for the welcoming, inclusive environment and appropriate staff to camp ratios that enable [child] and [child] to thrive.

We love the adventures they take in nature (and how well they seem to do when they fall and get scrapes), the non-competitive atmosphere, the flexibility and freedom for them to explore the grounds, and the innate therapeutic benefits (among others) of visiting and caretaking of the animals.

Historically, we've struggled to find programs that truly fit them and their needs, given their disability. Good Pickin Farm has been the exception--your camp enriches their experience of the world while providing holistic opportunities for them to see themselves as leaders. I never imagined the latter would be possible for them in a fully inclusive setting. This week, [child] proudly declared he was nicknamed the duck catching king, and helps younger kids catch ducks while [child] was excited to share her growing knowledge of native plants and animal husbandry. She was also excited to share the joy she felt when offering a preschooler in the program a chance to hold the bunny she had.

Thank you for finding the right mix of structure and supervision AND letting kids explore freely while experiencing farm life front and center.”

“As the mom of a toddler we go to A LOT of farms, and many of them are great, but this one is by far the best.  They have so many animals, and a variety of simple but really cool preschool activities (goat hikes, holding baby chicks and goats, petting therapy alpacas, planting basil in the green house, etc.).  The staff are so kid friendly.  This farm is easy to get to, in a beautiful location.”

“My 5 year old boys had such a great time on our private goat hike. It was the perfect activity for a time when playgrounds are closed. So great to interact with farm animals up close and get out for an easy adventure.”

“We had my son's birthday party at Good Pickin' Farm, and it was wonderful. We had a hay ride, which even the kid who was initially scared at the idea came to enjoy, and then the kids got to pet and feed the chickens and ducks and look for eggs, pet and hold bunnies, and visit with goats and sheep and alpacas and a pony. We brought cupcakes and snacks and had them under a picnic shelter, and the kids also played in a great sand pit.
Everyone was super nice, the setting was beautiful, the kids loved the animals. It was, as one of the parents said, a "refreshingly normal" birthday party after a year of not really being able to do things like that. Our son was with his pod, so we weren't so concerned about distancing, but it is all outdoors and could be done safely even in a more mixed group.”

“My extended family and I enjoyed a guided walk with Farmer Jen starring 7/8 goats and a dog or two. Farmer Jen had an incredible knowledge of the surrounding wildlife, local history, and was able to educate a wide range of ages (from 2 to 39) in an entertaining and inclusive way. The walk itself was lovely, even on a hot day as the surrounding woods provided ample shade. The goats behaved lovely, and were especially kind to my 2 year old - who hugged and kissed the goats throughout the walk.

My only complaint was the price of the tour. I felt we were undercharged, as it only cost $65 for a group of 4 adults. two children, and a toddler. Getting to hang out with goats + dogs in the woods for an hour + is worth more - I would have happily paid $80 for the tour. On their website, you can sponsor a goat; so if you feel undercharged as well, there is a work around :)”

“We had the best time at Good Pickin’ Farm today! We did the pony ride and Farmer Jen was great with my kiddos. They loved brushing and riding Blueberry, and they even got to feed him a special snack at the end. Everyone on the farm was so nice and the animals were very well cared for. This is such a special place - we will definitely be back!”

“So much fun at Good Pickin’ Farm today. Our private hike with goats, barn yard visit and pony rides for the kids was the perfect way to spend the day! We got to hug, snuggle, feed and play with all the animals and never felt rushed. It is a beautiful, spacious property and the owners made us feel so welcomed. I highly recommend getting some friends or family together and arranging for a private visit to the farm, compared to other farms and barnyard experiences, the cost was reasonable and worth every penny.”

“Absolutely amazing! I took my kids to the barnyard brush and they had a great time. Farmer Jen made the experience relaxing, informative and fun! It was nice to social distance with ducklings, goats, chicks and bunnies. “

“This is a wonderful place to visit, and a great community resource. We visited the farm twice with our young grandchildren ages 4 and 6 for a pony ride and a birthday party. It is a beautiful farm with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. There is a  community garden, chickens, goats, horses and ponies. The children got to spend quality time with the pony, grooming it, which they loved, before riding on the pony. During the birthday party, parents and children got to go on a hay ride, which everyone enjoyed.”
